Heads Down Over a Screen? Catch It Early.
Phones, laptops and long study or gaming sessions shape posture, and habits formed early tend to stick. AlignSmart® measures how your body is balanced, so you can see it before it becomes a pattern.

What does screen time do to your posture?
Hours looking down at a phone or leaning toward a monitor pull the head forward and round the shoulders, and the body can adapt to that position. Most people don’t realize it is happening, and even a slight misalignment can cause problems. AlignSmart® measures 20 points of your alignment and gives you a Symmetry Score, so you can see the pattern early.
Dealing with back pain, shoulder pain, sciatica or hip pain?
Many people in this position live with back pain, neck and shoulder pain, sciatica or hip pain and never find out whether their alignment is part of the picture. AlignSmart® doesn’t diagnose or treat any condition. It measures how your body is balanced, so you and your care team can see whether alignment may be contributing.
If you are in pain, talk with your doctor too. Alignment data works best alongside the care you already have.
Why does starting early matter?
Posture habits tend to stick. The longer a pattern runs, the more natural it feels, even when it isn’t doing your body any favors.
Reminders to sit up straight don’t show how the body is actually aligned. A measurement does, and it gives you something concrete to work on.
Common patterns from screens and study
Phones & tablets
Looking down pulls the head forward and rounds the shoulders.
Gaming & studying
Long sessions in one seated position add up.
Heavy backpacks
Carrying a bag on one shoulder can pull the body to one side.
Habits that stick
Patterns formed early often follow us into adulthood.
How does AlignSmart® help?
Symmetry for Health follows four steps, built around prevention rather than waiting for pain.
- MeasureThe patented AlignSmart® device captures 20 points across three planes of motion and produces your Symmetry Score, from 0 to 81.
- EducateYour practitioner shows you exactly where your body is compensating and why, in plain language.
- CorrectYou get a custom correction plan built for your structure, not a generic handout.
- EmpowerYou learn how to keep your alignment, so the changes last.
Does this replace sports, exercise or a doctor?
No. AlignSmart® works alongside sports, exercise and your care team. It adds a measurement of structural alignment. Parents are welcome to ask us about measuring a student before a season or school year.
Your questions, answered
Is “tech neck” real?
Spending hours looking down at screens can pull the head forward and round the shoulders, and the body can adapt to that position. Measuring alignment shows where your body actually stands.
Can I tell if my body is out of alignment on my own?
Not reliably. Most people don’t realize they are misaligned, and even a slight degree can cause problems. That is why Symmetry for Health uses objective measurement rather than a visual guess.
Can alignment affect back pain, shoulder pain, sciatica or hip pain?
Alignment can be one piece of the picture. When the body is out of balance it compensates, and that can show up as back, shoulder or hip pain, or pain that travels the way sciatica does. Symmetry for Health is not a medical provider and does not diagnose, so see your doctor about pain. AlignSmart® adds objective alignment data.
What happens in an AlignSmart® assessment?
Your practitioner measures 20 points across three planes of motion, explains your Symmetry Score and what it shows, and builds a correction plan around your structure.
I already see a chiropractor, PT or massage therapist. Should I still come in?
Yes, if you want to see your alignment data. AlignSmart® is designed to work alongside your existing care team.
Can parents bring a teen or student in?
Yes. Many parents choose to have a student measured. Start with a free posture evaluation online or call (916) 467-7764 to ask about next steps.

When your joints stack the way they were designed to, everyday movement, workouts and play take less effort.
Sleep better
Many people report sleeping more comfortably once their body stops working so hard to compensate.
Feel better
Less strain can mean more energy, better focus and an easier mood through the day.
