How can parents and caregivers protect their posture?
Lifting, carrying and holding, often on one side, adds up over a day and over years. Most people don’t realize their body has adapted, and even a slight misalignment can cause problems. AlignSmart® measures 20 points of your alignment and gives you a Symmetry Score, so you can see the pattern and build a plan to correct it.
Dealing with back pain, shoulder pain, sciatica or hip pain?
Many people in this position live with back pain, neck and shoulder pain, sciatica or hip pain and never find out whether their alignment is part of the picture. AlignSmart® doesn’t diagnose or treat any condition. It measures how your body is balanced, so you and your care team can see whether alignment may be contributing.
If you are in pain, talk with your doctor too. Alignment data works best alongside the care you already have.
Why does caregiving take a toll on the body?
Picking up a child, leaning over a crib or helping a loved one happens many times a day, usually on the same side. Those small loads repeat.
Between everything else on your plate, your own body tends to come last. A measurement gives you a clear starting point.
Common patterns for caregivers
Lifting & carrying
Picking up kids, groceries and gear repeats the same loads.
Hip-holding one side
Carrying a child on one hip can pull the body to one side.
Hunched over
Feeding, reading and phones round the shoulders and neck.
Driving & car seats
Leaning into the back seat and long drives add up too.

Yes. If you are recently postpartum, read Postpartum Hip Alignment. AlignSmart® also works alongside your doctor, chiropractor or PT, and does not replace them.
Your questions, answered
Why do parents and caregivers end up with so many aches and pains?
Lifting, carrying and holding repeat all day, usually favoring one side. That repetition can shape how the body is balanced, and most people don’t notice until it bothers them.
Can I tell if my body is out of alignment on my own?
Not reliably. Most people don’t realize they are misaligned, and even a slight degree can cause problems. That is why Symmetry for Health uses objective measurement rather than a visual guess.
Can alignment affect back pain, shoulder pain, sciatica or hip pain?
Alignment can be one piece of the picture. When the body is out of balance it compensates, and that can show up as back, shoulder or hip pain, or pain that travels the way sciatica does. Symmetry for Health is not a medical provider and does not diagnose, so see your doctor about pain. AlignSmart® adds objective alignment data.
What happens in an AlignSmart® assessment?
Your practitioner measures 20 points across three planes of motion, explains your Symmetry Score and what it shows, and builds a correction plan around your structure.
I already see a chiropractor, PT or massage therapist. Should I still come in?
Yes, if you want to see your alignment data. AlignSmart® is designed to work alongside your existing care team.
I don’t have time for myself. How do I start?
