How can first responders look after their posture?
First responders carry heavy gear, spend hours seated in vehicles or at consoles, and are asked for sudden strength with little warning. Over time the body can adapt to those loads, and most people don’t realize it is happening. AlignSmart® measures 20 points of your alignment and gives you a Symmetry Score, so you can see the pattern and build a plan to keep your body balanced.
On the job: why the work is hard on the body.
Duty belts, body armor, turnout gear and equipment bags add weight, often unevenly. Add shift work, long drives and the occasional all-out effort, and the body picks up compensations that are hard to see from the inside.
AlignSmart® doesn’t diagnose or treat. It works alongside your department’s wellness resources, your doctor and your PT. Start with a free posture evaluation online, or call us and we will answer your questions first.
For departments and crews: a measurement your people can use.
Fitness tests and wellness programs cover strength and cardio. What most don’t measure is the structure underneath. Objective alignment data gives each person a clear starting point, and a way to see progress over time.
If you lead a station, a squad or a dispatch center, you are in a position to point your people toward a free posture evaluation. Call our Folsom team to talk about what could work for your department.

Pain areas people come to us about, and what better alignment can change.
People come to Symmetry for Health with jaw and neck pain, headaches, shoulder and upper back pain, elbow, wrist and hand pain, mid back and low back pain, sciatica, tailbone and pelvic pain, hip pain, knee pain, and ankle and foot pain. Others come for spinal curves, scoliosis patterns, disc-related back pain, or strains and injuries that keep coming back. Pain often shows up far from where it starts, so measuring the whole body matters. See everyone we help.
Move better
When your joints stack the way they were designed to, everyday movement, workouts and play take less effort.
Sleep better
Many people report sleeping more comfortably once their body stops working so hard to compensate.
Feel better
Less strain can mean more energy, better focus and an easier mood through the day.
Lower your injury risk
Measuring alignment shows where your body is overloaded, so you can address it before it becomes a strain or sprain.
AlignSmart® does not diagnose or treat medical conditions. If you have pain, talk with your doctor. Alignment data works best alongside the care you already have.
Your questions, answered
Why measure a first responder’s alignment?
The job loads the body in uneven ways: heavy gear, long hours in a vehicle or at a console, and sudden physical demands with little warning. Measuring alignment shows where the body has adapted, so you can build a plan around real data instead of guessing.
Can alignment help reduce injuries on the job?
Alignment can be one piece of the picture. When the body is out of balance it compensates, and those compensations can show up as strains or pain far from the cause. AlignSmart® measures where your body has shifted so you can build a plan around it. It does not guarantee any outcome, and it doesn’t diagnose or treat injuries.
Does a duty belt, vest or turnout gear change my posture?
Heavy gear worn on one side or carried on the torso can change how the body is balanced over time. Most people don’t realize it is happening, which is why Symmetry for Health measures rather than guesses.
I work shifts and sit in a vehicle or at a console for hours. Does that matter?
Long stretches seated, often in the same position, can shape how the hips, spine and shoulders sit. Dispatchers and patrol officers, in particular, spend long hours seated, and seeing your data is a useful starting point.
Does this replace my department’s wellness program, doctor or physical therapist?
No. AlignSmart® works alongside your department’s wellness resources, your doctor and your PT. It adds objective data about structural alignment that none of them measure on their own. For pain or an injury, see a qualified healthcare provider.
