Meet Kimberly

Every week here at Symmetry we choose a Client of the Week, someone who has stood out to our team as newsworthy! We interview our Client of the Week to get the opportunity to understand why Symmetry was their solution and hear all they have to say about the program. Kimberly’s Story

This week I had the honor of sitting down with Mrs. Kimberly Keyton, a Symmetry client on her 10th session. Kimberly is such a kind face in our office, and we always enjoy the energy she brings into her appointments. Kimberly, like most of us, has had her struggles with chronic pain. It’s always wonderful getting to hear of how Symmetry has changed lives, and Kimberley’s eagerness to share her story is why we love her!

Kimberly’s journey with back pain began during a front yard remodel in 2018. She had never experienced back pain before, so over the next two years she ignored it. She traveled on planes for work, and the pain became intolerable. But in the beginning of 2020, the Corona Virus shut the world down and Kimberly began working from home. Through the next months her back pain made it hard if not impossible to achieve a peaceful life, or participate in activities she loved to do. She was unable to take walks, as every step produced unwelcome pain. She found it hard to sleep, as her pain was constantly waking her up through each and every slight movement. She described her lower back and neck pain as ‘brutal’.

Kimberly decided to seek out some relief. She began visiting a chiropractor up to three times a week, which became repetitive and expensive. She was able to find a small amount of relief, but through continually seeking this chiropractor she realized that the treatment wasn't targeting the source of her pain. During this time, Kimberly also began acupuncture twice a week, but to no avail. Her chiropractor informed her that she simply needed to continue treatments; that she had no other options. After a year of this, she grew annoyed. This source of pain relief wasn’t providing the sustenance she needed, so she began seeking out other solutions. Kimberly came across specialists and PhD’s working with Olympic weightlifters and athletes with back injuries, but they were all based in other countries. Through these professionals she realized the importance of back strengthening, she just needed something local.

Kimberly was referred to Symmetry for Health by personal trainer and Symmetry client Janelle Keener. She described finding Symmetry as ‘serendipity’, as it proved to be exactly what she had been seeking out for three years. Kimberly began with us in March of this year, and “within a matter of weeks [she] achieved days at a time without chronic pain”.

I asked Kimberly to describe her Symmetry experience thus far. According to her, Symmetry is an incredibly calm, peaceful, and positive environment. Her appointments are something to look forward to in a very noisy world, and the staff is very sweet and helpful. To Kimberly, it’s never just about just measuring or taking her through routines, but she feels the Symmetry staff genuinely care about heartfelt connections and her overall well being. She mentioned that her routines are surprisingly straightforward, and produce a dramatic shift in pain with such simple stretches.

Kimberly wants people to know that chiropractic treatment or acupuncture isn’t always necessary. The reason she loves Symmetry is because it empowers you to self-manage your pain. She is happy now that she has the ability to simply pull up her routines on her phone whenever she is feeling unsteady, and take control of her pain. Kimberly is incredibly thankful of the mental weight Symmetry has lifted, as constant pain management and physical strain requires lots of energy. Now that Symmetry has reduced her stress, and is able to replace that energy with more important things. Kimberly is now able to focus on her family, work, and continuing to do the things she loves. She is thrilled at the ability to enjoy her long walks, gardening in the outdoors, and taking road trips with her loved ones.

Stories like Kimberley’s are the reason we love what we do here at Symmetry. It is so inspiring hearing about journeys through and out of chronic pain, and we are able to pride ourselves in happy endings. But always remember, we at Symmetry are simply providing the tools to a pain-free life, but it’s our clients who put in the work. Congratulations to Kimberly, and all our clients with their own stories that led them to Symmetry. We’re just so happy we get to help you along the journey to a pain-free and peaceful life. Thanks so much Kimberly!!!
